Contax AX mirror slip …

Friday, October 20th, 2017

Deja-vue … this time I had the same issue with my Contax AX as with my Contax RX some time ago.

The mirror has slipped down about 3-4 milimeters over time due to bad glue, loosing it’s adhesive quality over time.

Due to this, the mirror crashes onto the lens rear element and hangs in upper position.

I tried the same kind of repair and … let’s see how it works.

This brand was so expensive in it’s era … shame on you Contax for using such a poor glue.

Enjoy 🙂

The Beauty and the Beast …

Friday, October 20th, 2017

Some time ago I posted an image of two beautiful cameras – the Canon EOS 3 vs the Canon EOS 5D.

Without all further comments, these two cams are beautiful tools from two different worlds – one analog and one digital. So similar on one side and so different on the other side.

Some time later, I found another pair, this time both from the analog era. A Contax Aria vs a Contax AX.

But … also this beautiful pair comes from two different worlds.

One has a pure manual focus, the other is the one and only example of a SLR with autofocus on (all) manual lenses.

Enjoy 🙂

Australian Adventure III

Thursday, October 5th, 2017

After completing the second part of my Australian Adventure, which more focused on the towns on our path, I’m now coming back to nature in the third part of the series.

This time it’s about Tasmania – a lovely island.

As explained in one of the images, it reminds my on my homeland Bavaria – in size and in nature and on Ireland – in size and in nature.

A lovely place on earth – check out on Flickr.

Enjoy 😉
