Wednesday, October 17th, 2018

Bullfighting is still a cultural highlight in this part of spain – whether you like it or not. The Placa de Toros is worth visiting nevertheless – even outside the season.

A wonderful spanish market can be found at the Mercado de Triana – its one of the oldest markets in town opened 1823, built on the remnants of the … Read the rest

The Metropol Parasol was build in 2011 and constructed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer. It is a wooden structure, 150 x 70m wide and  up to 23 m high. On its top you can have a walk across.

As so many times before, I made two albums, one in colour and one in black and white, as both … Read the rest

Sevilla, when it’s still cold at home – Part 2

Wednesday, October 10th, 2018

Calle Sierpes is a wonderful shopping lane in the old center of Sevilla. I found tons of beautiful subjects (better objects) which give an impression of the ancient history of this beautiful and amazing town.

As so many times before, I made two albums, one in colour and one in black and white, as both show their special mood.… Read the rest

Visiting this beautiful old town in Al Andalus for the second time, this time we choose to come in February to escape the summer heat with its approx. 40 °C. End of February, it was sunny in Seville and we had cozy 18 degrees. Guess what camera was on board … I only say ‘workhorse’.

Perseids Meteor Shower

Monday, August 13th, 2018

Another astronomy highlight was the Perseids Meteor Shower occurring in August and this year we were lucky, as it was new moon and so it was quite dark outside, here in that rural region.

The maximum hit rate was announced for Monday morning around 4:30 GMT, I knew that I’d not wait that long.
Starting around 23:15 CET by setting … Read the rest

Once in a mankind – Lunar Eclipse with Mars

Saturday, July 28th, 2018

My first thought was … argh … there will be millions of beautiful, sharp and frame filling pictures on the internet already nanoseconds after this event has started. Then I thought … let’s have a look … and I saw the dark brown moon rising over the southeastern horizon.

Hm, … I fetched my binocular and enjoyed what I saw … Read the rest

Inspiration is the motor for improvement

Did I ever tell the story, … why I love a special kind of city skyline images?

It was some time ago, when I was looking for something wide, something quite wide, something quite large and something … quite old.
I found a Zeiss Ikon Ercona, a 6×9 technical wonder from the early fifties – last century. This gem uses … Read the rest

El norte de España

Wednesday, June 13th, 2018

In spring 2016 I travelled to Northern Spain, visiting the Basque Country, Cantabria, Aragon and Castile and Leon. Flying to Bilbao and heading to our first location in San Sebastian, we made a stopover in Zumaia. The little town is nice … but more famous is its rock formation – The Flysch. The landscape is stunning and so we stayed … Read the rest

Nice intermediate … in Melbourne, when visiting the Queen Victoria Market, we found a Classic Car Show with loads of beautiful cars. As mentioned before, I find colour and black&white very pleasing.

This was a Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Sedan (1960).

Here the phantastic colours …

… and here come the beautiful black&white.

Enjoy 😉

P.S. In case you’d like … Read the rest

The last days I had some fun in the garden, as lots of flowers are giving their very best to make this time an amazing colourful one. I was lucky shooting three cameras/lens combinations.

Anemone hupehensis / Herbst-Anemone shot with Fuji X100s with the nice 2.0/23mm onboard … Read the rest
